Korea Medical Tourism Tax Refund Calculator
Foreign patients who receive medical treatment in South Korea are eligible for a VAT refund of up to 10% of their surgery costs. Use this calculator to estimate your refund.
This calculator provides estimates only. Actual refund amounts may vary based on the specific tax category of your procedure and processing fees. Always confirm eligibility directly with your clinic.
How to Claim Your Tax Refund
- 1
Request a Tax Refund Receipt from the clinic when you pay. Ask for the official VAT refund form.
- 2
Keep all original receipts and the Tax Refund Form. You will need your passport.
- 3
At the airport before departure, visit the Tax Refund Counter (KIOSK) at Incheon International Airport (before or after security, depending on refund amount).
- 4
For refunds under 75,000 KRW: use the automatic KIOSK machines. For larger amounts: visit the staffed customs counter.
- 5
Receive your refund via cash, credit card, or bank transfer. Processing typically takes 2-4 weeks for card/bank transfers.
